Find out how conversation topics are generated in real-time across the inbox

Medical Patient Triage requests now get an automatic conversation topic and preview text in your inbox - so your team can scan and prioritise requests faster.

This applies to Accurx Desktop and Accurx Web, for both GP workspaces that use the default Patient Triage form and secondary care workspaces that use a custom Patient Triage form.

📢System-Generated Conversation Topics is currently only available for some organisations.

At a glance

Conversation Topics give every medical triage request in your inbox a clear, specific topic - so you can scan the inbox to find relevant messages and prioritise requests faster. 👇

How it works

Every system-generated topic starts with "Medical: ", followed by the topic itself.

To keep the inbox easy to scan, system-generated topics for Medical Triage requests are limited to 50 characters when displayed in the inbox. You can still edit any topic to be up to 120 characters.

You'll also see a system message in the conversation thread confirming the topic has been generated👇

What populates the topic and preview depends on whether the request came through a standard Patient Triage form or a custom form.

Standard Medical Patient Triage requests (GP)

  • Topic: Taken directly from the patient's free-text answer to "Describe the problem." This is used exactly as the patient submitted it - Accurx doesn't edit or rephrase it.

  • Preview: Taken from the patient's free-text answer to "How long have you had this? Is it getting better or worse?"

Example:

  • Topic: Medical: I have a sore throat and cough and it hur...

  • Preview: Patient: 2 weeks, getting worse

Custom form Medical Triage requests (Secondary care)

If your workspace uses a custom Patient Triage form, the topic and preview are generated a little differently:

  • Topic: Taken from the subject or title of the custom form itself.

  • Preview: Taken from the patient's answer to the first question on the form. Even if the patient selected their answer from a list rather than typing free text, it will still display as text in the preview.

Example:

  • Topic: Medical: IBD Flare

  • Preview: Patient: Ulcerative Colitis

Please note: System-generated Conversation Topics are rule-based, not AI-generated.
