ⓘ This article is for Accurx Scribe users at University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) and University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN).
When Scribe generates a patient letter for a patient under 16, the greeting line is now addressed to their parent or guardian, rather than to the patient.
🔄 What's changed
The greeting line at the top of your patient letters now depends on the patient's age:
Under 16: “Dear Parent/Guardian of [Patient First Name] [Patient Last Name]”
16 or over: “Dear [Patient First Name] [Patient Last Name]”, the same as before.
Previously, letters were only addressed to the parent or guardian when the patient was 7 or under.
📝 How it works
The greeting is set automatically using the age of the patient linked to your consultation.
Link your consultation to the patient as usual.
Generate your letter and review it as usual 👇
Scribe adds the right greeting line at the top of the letter 👇
💡 No extra steps. This only changes the wording of the letter. The way you record, generate, save and send letters stays the same.
🔍 Check your letter before you send it
Click the arrow next to 'Save and send', then 'Download PDF' to see exactly what will be sent:
For a patient under 16, the letter should start “Dear Parent/Guardian of…”.
For a patient aged 16 or over, the letter should start “Dear” followed by the patient's name.
