This article talks about a feature of Accurx Desktop, our toolbar for EMIS/SystmOne.

Scheduling (formerly the Pathways "+" button) allows you to schedule messages for a patient for different dates.

To send a scheduled message, open a patient in EMIS/SystmOne and click the Accurx Desktop SMS icon like you would for a normal text message.

Sending one scheduled message

Next to the 'Send now' button, you should see an arrow. If you click on this, you will be given the option to schedule your message!

You can choose your own date and time at any time in the future when selecting "Custom date and time" πŸ‘‡

You can either write your own message or you can select a template from the templates filter in the preview templates and questionnaires section, as shown below πŸ‘‡

πŸŽ‰ Top Tip 🌟 - You can type into the search bar here to quickly find the pathway you are after ⏩.

Scheduling multiple follow-up messages

To create/build scheduled messages (formerly the "+" option), send your first initial message:

Once sent, you can add a new message to the conversation thread by selecting "Reply to patient".

You can then build a whole new message and schedule it to go at a custom time & date.

You can repeat this as many times as required in the same window to create one conversation thread. All messages you add will be part of the same conversation in your inbox and will not be separated.

You can also continue the conversation in your inbox and schedule the messages as required.

More Information:

  • For messages scheduled in the future, we run a check to make sure the patient is still registered at the organisation and their details have not changed. If a patient has died or moved, we will automatically cancel any future messages to that patient.

  • If a message is scheduled for a patient in the future and they change their mobile number before the message is sent, the message will be delivered to their new mobile number.

  • If you wish to you can cancel scheduled messages by going to your toolbar menu, clicking 'Manage Organisation', and then 'Delayed Messages'. Just click cancel next to the message you wish to cancel.

  • You can now also schedule Floreys to be sent in the future! This article has more information about this.

Can I create a Pathway template or my own series of scheduled messages?

  • You currently can't create templates for Pathways like you can for regular SMS messages.

  • You can edit the texts in the Pathway templates that Accurx gives you, but this does need to be done each time you wish to send that Pathway.

  • You can also create a custom Pathway for a patient, but you would need to change this each time you want to send the same Pathway ou,t as these can't be saved.

If you still have any questions or concerns, feel free to chat with us using the green message bubble in the bottom right-hand corner of this page. πŸ‘‰
