How to translate your messages before sending them

While we don’t currently have a translation feature built into Accurx Desktop, we do support non-Latin characters, meaning you can send a text in any language, such as Bengali, Arabic, Russian & more! 🎉

To do this:

1. Go to an online translator (such as Google Translate) and type in your message in the left side text box. This will automatically generate the translated text in the right side text box.

2. Copy the translated text, paste it into an Accurx Desktop message and click ‘send’

Please note: EMIS and SystmOne do not support non-Latin characters, so the automatic SMS entry may default to random characters. We’d recommend that you edit the entry manually to reflect the English version of the message.

We cannot promise 100% accuracy using Google Translate or other online translation tools and recommend that you make it clear to your patients that you’re using a translation software. Some ways you can do this include:

  • Making it clear that you’re using a translation service by putting a caveat at the end

  • Including the English version below the translated text, to indicate that the message is direct translation

  • Keeping the message short and simple, to minimise the likelihood of things getting ‘lost in translation’

3. The patient will receive the text in this language, regardless of what their phone’s language settings are set as. 😊
