An article guide on the new updated look for Compose
The following guide will go through the new Compose window in Accurx Desktop. Our new Compose message design has been built to improve future development and stability for upcoming features when communicating with your patients.
Access the new Compose by selecting the messaging icon on your Accurx Desktop toolbar:
Compose has been renewed with a more visually streamlined design.
Patient Details
Patient details will be displayed at the top of the compose window. It will start with the patients' surname followed by their first name, age and abbreviated gender. Underneath, you'll have the patient's NHS number and date of birth.
To the left, you have access to a clinical system button to open up the EMR record.
Contact Method & Consent Check
You can adjust the contact method by clicking on the pre-selected contact details. When expanding this menu, you can view the consent details which provide further information on the consent coded into the patient's medical record.
To manually enter a new number or email address, you can select "Add new mobile or email". You will then be asked to enter an email address or mobile number. Select the "Add" button if new details are manually entered.
Templates & Questionnaires
To search through the Accurx pre-built templates & questionnaires and custom message templates & custom questionnaires, please select the "Search templates and questionnaires" section.
If you want to preview the templates and expand the search, you can select "Preview templates". From here you can filter between Templates and Questionnaires and select any of the the listed items to preview the message.
You can also access your template manager page by selecting "Create and manage templates" towards the bottom of the list.
Compose Message
In case you need to make any adjustments to the template or write up a message from scratch, you can free-type into the compose box to amend your message as required. You have a character and fragment count in the bottom right corner.
Allow Reply & Assign
Whenever you have "Allow reply" enabled you can assign the response to another team or colleague. You can use the search feature to find them.
You can also assign questionnaires if you selected that option but only to another team.
Attach documents, Self-book Invite, Save, Send & Scheduled Send
You can use the paper-clip icon to attach documents from the clinical system, and desktop and also attach NHS.UK advice to your message. You can attach up to 5 documents to send to patients.
The calendar icon next to it allows you to generate a self-book invite to invite a patient into a specific slot type.
The "Save" tickbox is to save the composed to record, if unticked the message will not save to record.
You can use "Send" to message the patient straight away or select the arrow button next to it to schedule the message for another time.
Post-Sending & Add outcome
After sending the message, you have the option to send out another message to the same patient by selecting "Reopen and reply".
You can also add an internal note by selecting "Add note".
If you added the option for the patient to reply, you can select "Add outcome" to record the result if the conversation with the patient is over.
