Message GP practice is a feature of Accurx Web that allows you to send messages about a patient directly to their GP practice without having to look up any contact details.

Accurx Web is web-based, so you don’t need to install or download any software, and you can log-in using your nhs.net or nhs.uk credentials from any mobile, tablet or desktop device.

How does it work?

  • Message GP practice lets you send messages about a patient to a patient's GP practice easily from either your mobile or desktop.

  • We use the Personal Demographics Service to identify the patient's GP practice.

  • Message GP practice will be available if it has been enabled for the patient's GP practice.

  • These messages will be sent to the Accurx inbox for the GP practice. They can be saved directly to the patient record in one-click, including attachments.

  • The GP practice will receive a notification of a new message.

  • All responses come back to your NHS email address.

  3. From here you can write out a message to the GP practice, or choose a pre-written template from the 'Templates' drop-down, then click 'Send'. You will also be able to attach any relevant documents to this message by selecting 'Attach file'.

  4. A log of the sent message will be recorded in the conversation above, it will tell you the delivery status of the message and give you the option to copy it if you need to save it to your records.

You'll also see that "Participants" has appeared on the right which indicates who is part of the conversation.

  5. If you need to see it again, you can view rcent conversations from the patient's profile page in "Recent Messages with..." underneath the message GP practice button.
