Accurx Web allows you to easily video call, text your patients or view their patients' GP records from either your mobile or desktop.
Accurx Web is web-based, so you donβt need to install or download any software and patients donβt need to download an app (you send a video call link via SMS).
Introduction
Over 150 NHS Trusts, as well as many other NHS organisations, are already using Accurx Web and we have seen many use cases from all corners of the health system including:
Virtual Outpatient clinics
Virtual visiting/difficult conversations with relatives/NOK (better than a phone call)
Quick SMS updates to relatives from ITU/inpatient wards
Calls for up to 4 (patient + relative/another HCP, interpreters, supervision)
View a patient's latest GP records
Seeking approval from your organisation
Accurx Web is an NHS-approved supplier for video consultations and we adhere to NHS best practices on Information Governance and data security.
If you would like to use Accurx Web, you should discuss this with your Trust/management in your organisation. Your IM& department may ask for a copy of our Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA), which can be found here.
How to get started with Accurx Web
...or go to https://web.accurx.com/login. There are two options:
Use NHSmail single sign-on (recommended) or;
Create your own account to sign in with.
NHSmail single sign-on (@nhs.net email addresses)
Click on the "Continue with NHSmail button (nhs.net)". If you are already logged in to NHSmail, you will be immediately authenticated and be taken to the Accurx Web service.
If you are not currently logged in to NHSmail, you will be asked to put in your NHSmail email address and password first.
We will automatically suggest the organisation for you to join from your account.
Creating your own account (non- @nhs.net email addresses)
Please select "Create account"
You will be asked for your name and email and to create a password.
Currently, we follow NHS Digital's Secure email standard (DCB1596) guidance and only accept accredited emails based on the standard. This includes email addresses ending in nhs.uk, nhs.net, or accredited email domains listed in this guide here.
You will then be sent a verification email to your inbox, in which you'll need to click 'Verify your email' and then be asked to sign in.
If your email address contains a sub-domain relating to a specific trust (eg, @uhl.tr.uk, @ouh.nhs.uk, etc), then we will suggest the relevant trust organisation for you to join directly.
If the previous point doesn't apply to you, you can request to join your organisation via the organisation search. The request will then be reviewed by our team and actioned.
Once you have received confirmation from us, you will be able to log in to Accurx Web.
Workspaces
Once you've joined a trust organisation, you'll be prompted to join a workspace upon your next Accurx Web login.
A workspace is a dedicated shared space for a group of users who regularly work together (eg within a department) to collaborate in Accurx Web π¦
Once you're in a workspace, you can test out Accurx Web by clicking the 'Use with a test patient' toggle π
You should check which browser will work best for you and your patients here (Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android, Chrome or Firefox on desktop).
π Once you've searched for the patient, you'll have the option to send SMS messages, video consultation invites and request to view the patient's GP medical record! π
If you still have any questions or concerns, feel free to chat with us using the green message bubble in the bottom right-hand corner of this page. π
