As Accurx deals with patient details and conversations, it's vital that each user's login is authenticated to ensure patient data security.

There are two ways to authenticate your login to use Accurx, outlined below πŸ‘‡

NHSmail (Single Sign-On) πŸ”΅

We recommend that users with @nhs.net email addresses log in to Accurx using the NHSmail (Single Sign-On) option, as this means they only need to complete two-factor authentication once via NHSmail and skip the Accurx two-factor authentication.

If you opt to log in with NHSmail, you will be taken to this screen πŸ‘‡

You will then enter your @nhs.net email and password, and confirm your NHSmail two-factor authentication if you haven't already, which will automatically sign you in to Accurx or create an Accurx account if you're not already registered.

Email and password/Magic link βœ‰οΈ

If you do not use an @nhs.net email address, you'll need to authenticate your login with Accurx two-factor authentication via the email and password/magic link route.

You can use either your mobile number to receive a code via SMS or set up the authenticator app to receive a code via the app.

  • SMS: Add a mobile number as the account's security method.

(Please note: The mobile number will only be used to authenticate your login. No other users or patients will be able to see this.)

  • Authenticator app: Set up the authenticator app as the account's security method. We recommend using this method if your mobile number struggles to receive SMS messages due to network issues.

How to amend/change your Accurx two-factor authentication method

There are two ways to amend your Accurx two-factor authentication method, depending on whether you're currently logged into the account.

1. If you're already logged into your Accurx account

  • Access your Accurx settings page.

    • Accurx Desktop users will need to click on the settings cog on the Accurx Desktop toolbar and then select 'Settings'.

    • Accurx Web user will need to click on the settings cog on the top right of Accurx Web and then select 'Settings'.

  • Select 'Account' on the left hand panel and then 'Security'.

  • Click on 'Reset two-factor authentication'. This will log you out of Accurx and enable you to set up a new two-factor authentication method when logging in again.

2. If you're not logged into your Accurx account

If you're not logged into your Accurx account and are unable to do so due to the two-factor authentication step, please reach out to our support team to run through some verification steps to clear your current Accurx two-factor authentication.

Please note: Using generic accounts is against our Terms of Service and our Acceptable Use Policy. This is a safety standard required by our Information Security team, and we won't be able to clear the Accurx two-factor authentication on generic accounts.
