Why is the toolbar changing?

The current toolbar has started to reach its limits - we want to add more functionality in the future, but simply adding more buttons would make it long and clunky. So our design team has rethought how the toolbar is structured to keep it easy to use and scalable.

Your new toolbar gives you:

  • More space and more features are accessible quickly ✨

  • A new, easy-to-use design 🀩

  • Accurx Scribe ready in one click from the toolbar ✍

  • A more powerful Accurx, with the toolbar built to allow us to release improvements more quickly in the future πŸ’ͺ

What's changed

1. Message Patients

No changes here! This is still the place to message patients πŸ’¬
You’ll find the same reliable workflow: Clicking here still opens the Compose screen with the EMR patient details pre-filled. This familiar step hasn’t changed, so you can continue messaging patients just as you always have.

2. More options

This option opens a dropdown menu with more actions related to patient care, such as filling out a Triage request via Reception flow or creating a Batch Message πŸ‘‡

3. Scribe

This opens the Accurx scribe window 🎀 Accurx Scribe uses AI to transcribe audio from a patient consultation or dictation and to summarise it into a structured form for medical notes. Clinicians can review and edit these notes, generate other documents, save these notes to the patient record and share documents with patients and other services.

You can find an overview here on how to complete your first consultation with Accurx Scribe.

4. Patient Inbox

'Inbox' has been renamed to 'Patient Inbox'. This is still the place to access all patient-related communications. ✍️

5. Professionals Inbox

'Accumail' has been renamed to 'Professionals Inbox' for clarity πŸ”Ž

6. Directory

No changes here! You can still find up-to-date contact details for services across the NHS to message them about your patient. Add and update contacts to manage all your contacts in one place.

7. Workspace and account settings (previously your Initials)

What was previously represented by the initials menu is now displayed as a settings cog icon βš™οΈ, offering a more universally recognised symbol for accessing preferences and settings.

This button opens a dropdown menu πŸ‘‡

7a: At the top of the menu, you can see which workspace, organisation, and account you’re currently signed into. If you are not connected to an organisation, then it won’t show.

7b: 'Manage Organisation' has now been renamed to 'Settings'. This option launches the Manage Org webpage as it did previously, where you can manage features like Templates, Appointment Reminders, Patient Triage, etc, as well as your Workspace and Account settings.

7c: This opens the Users page in Manage Org/settings so you can have quick access to approving and managing colleagues in your workspace.

7d: This is a shortcut to your Reporting Dashboards.

7e: This will open up the Accurx Help centre.

7f: This opens up the product feedback form as it was previously.

7g: This will now contain what was previously under both 'About' and 'Settings'. You will be able to update your toolbar, send diagnostics and access options like Organisation ID, Organisation location and This computer πŸ‘‡

7h: This will open up the Organisation switcher window as it did previously.

7i: Here you will be able to log out of the Accurx toolbar.

7j: This will minimise the Accurx toolbar into your desktop bar without logging you out or closing the toolbar.

7k: This was previously named 'Exit'. Here you will be able to close the Accurx application, but it will not log you out of your account.
