Message GP is a feature of the Accurx app that allows you to send messages about a patient directly to their GP practice without having to look up any contact details

How does it work?

  • Message GP lets you send messages about a patient to a patient's GP practice easily from either your mobile or desktop.

  • We use the Personal Demographics Service to identify the patient's GP practice.

  • The Message GP feature is available if it has been enabled for the patient's GP practice and if it has been enabled by your Trust.

  • These messages will be sent to the Accurx inbox for the GP practice. They can be saved directly to the patient record in one-click on Accurx Desktop, including attachments.

  • The GP practice will receive a notification of a new message.

  • All responses come back to your NHS email address.

Note: You will only see the Message GP option if the GP practice has opted into being communicated with via Accurx.

How to send a message to a patient's GP practice

  1. Select 'Message GP' from the home screen + search for the patient.

2. Once you've opened the patient, you will see the GP the patient is registered with within the 'to' field of your message; this is the organisation that your message will be delivered to. These details are pulled from the Personal Demographics Service.

If the patient's GP has the Message GP feature disabled this is how it will appear πŸ‘‡

3. Once you've composed your message to the patient's GP you can simply click 'send' and it will be delivered to the GP's Inbox and you will be able to view your message in the 'Conversations with Care providers' section of your Inbox as well as the other messages you've sent to GPs about patients πŸ‘‡

4. When the GP practice responds to your message, you will receive an email. To reply, open the email and click 'Reply'.

If you still have any questions or concerns, feel free to chat with us using the green message bubble in the bottom right-hand corner of this page. πŸ‘‰
