Our new voice over the internet protocol call solution which is currently in a pilot phase.

What is the Accurx VOIP feature?

VOIP = Voice over internet protocol

The Accurx VOIP feature is designed to make contacting patients via telephone even easier!

How to use:

1. On the desktop toolbar select the telephone icon:

2. With the patient loaded in the medical record system (EMIS or SystmOne), choose between the mobile number or the home number that is on the patient's medical record or enter a different number:

3. Click on the number you would like to make the call to and this will automatically open your browser and call the patient:

4. During the call, you will have the option to 'hang up' on the patient via the browser that was opened. Close the browser when you have finished your call.

**It is important that you close the tab as well as "Hang Up" the call.

FAQs

Are phone calls recorded?

The functionality to record a phone call is not currently supported during this pilot phase.

Can I add more than one person to the phone call?

You won't be able to add more than one person to the call. The VOIP feature only supports calling one person.

Are calls logged and/or saved on the patient's medical record?

We don't currently support the functionality to view a log of the phone calls made in the practice by yourself and other members of staff and calls are not currently coded back to the record.

Can I change my number?

Yes, just contact the Support Team via the Help Centre using the speech/messenger icon in the bottom left-hand corner.

Do I have to enable anything on EMIS/SystmOne/Vision?

None! Once the User Support Team has enabled this then you should see the telephone icon appear in your Accurx desktop toolbar. If you are having issues connecting to the toolbar then contact our User Support Team.

I am getting the error, "Error starting call, this is likely a local IT issue". What do I do?

This is likely to do with a VPN blocking the user/computer from making calls. However, we advised that you contact your local IT manager/team to investigate this further. They will need to ensure that Vonages IPs are enabled. For further information, contact our User Support Team.

I know another practice that would be interesting. How do they sign up?

Just ask the practice interested to drop us a message via our Help Centre. The User Support Team will switch this on for them.

Do we have to pay for the Accurx VOIP feature?

This product is currently free to use during the pilot as Accurx is currently covering the cost for calls. However, this may change in the future.

How do I know if the call has ended?

You will have the option to "Hang-up" the call on the webpage but we strongly advise that all users close the tab as well. This will mitigate any risk of having not ended the call and running more than one VOIP call at the same time.
