AI at Accurx

We're building AI features to help healthcare teams with their workflows and to give patients a better experience. There is always a clinician in the loop, and patient safety is our top priority. đŸ©ș

This page gives you a quick summary of each AI feature.

Our approach to AI

Every AI feature we build goes through rigorous clinical testing and safety review before it goes live, and is monitored closely once it's released. We're also open with patients and users about when AI is involved and what it's helping with.

Smart Conversation Topics

Uses AI to generate short summaries of patient Medical requests in the practice's inbox.

This is a tool for practice staff. Find out what this means for patients below.

Smart Triage Questions

Smart Triage Questions use AI to ask patients a few short follow-up questions after they describe a health problem in their GP practice's online request form (Patient Triage form). The questions are designed to gather more of the information the practice team needs upfront, so they spend less time going back to patients for missing details before making a triage decision.

Smart Triage Questions is registered with the MHRA as a Class I medical device.

📱Smart Triage Questions should not be used for urgent medical problems. If you are a patient and need urgent help, call your GP practice. If it’s closed, visit NHS 111 online or call 111. In an emergency, call 999.

Smart Conversation Topics

Smart Conversation Topics uses AI to generate short summaries of Medical requests submitted by patients in the practices Accurx inbox, practice teams can use these to prioritise the order in which they review the full patient requests in the inbox.

For patients: what this means for you

Some GP practices use AI to create a short summary of medical requests sent through their online form. The summary is only visible to staff at the practice, to help them see at a glance what each request is about.

  • You won’t see the summary, and nothing changes about how you send your request.

  • A member of your practice team still reads your full request before deciding how to respond.

  • The summary only describes what you’ve written. It isn’t intended to diagnose your condition or decide how urgent your request is.

If you’re a patient and have a question about your health or care, please contact your GP practice.

If you have any questions or feedback, please contact our support team using the message bubble in the bottom right-hand corner of this page. 👉
