How far in advance can patients book in?

The patient can book up to 6 weeks in advance.

Will patients be given specific times for their telephone appointments?

Patients will not be given specific times for appointments. They will be given time windows either between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm or between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

Can I customise the telephone appointment time windows for my practice?

This isn’t something you can do right now.

What happens if Accurx tries to book the patient into a slot that has already been booked by the practice?

If this does happen, the patient will be sent a text to explain the booking hasn't gone through and they will be able to retry booking.

Can the patient cancel their appointment?

The patient can't currently cancel their appointment using their Self-Book link so they will need to call the practice to do this. This is something we may look at adding in future.

What appointment types can I use this for?

Self-Book can only be used for telephone appointments and we would recommend using it for routine telephone appointments. This is because patients are given a time window for their appointment rather than a specific appointment time. Patients also can’t book appointments that are on the same day as they are sent an invite.

How long does the link last?

The link lasts for 7 days

Can patients reuse the link to book a different appointment?

Patients cannot use the link to book more than one appointment.

Will the patient be able to see which clinician the slot is for?

This isn't something that will be available right now but we may consider adding this in future based on the feedback we receive.

Do I need to make my slot types available for Patient Facing Services? (e.g. Patient Access)

Self-Book works differently to Patient Access. You do not need to make appointments available for online booking. With Self-Book, only specific patients that are sent a booking invite via text will be able to book into the chosen slot type.
