Who will receive the patient's request and where do they go?

All Accurx users within your service can view and action any Patient-Initiated Contact requests that are submitted. Any new requests will be sent to the 'Unassigned' folder. Only users who have there notifications switched to 'on' for the unassigned folder will receive notifications.

The screenshot below shows you how to do this👇 :

How requests are matched to a patient

Requests that come into the Accurx inbox are then automatically matched with the patient's clinical record, reducing the time required to manually match people up!

For a request to be automatically matched to a patient, two conditions must be met:

1. The patient has authenticated their phone number when submitting the request.

2 .The details they provide must exactly match their records on the Personal Demographics Service (PDS).

If either of these conditions is not met, the request will appear as ‘patient not found’ and will require manual matching. If there are close matches in your service, these will be suggested to streamline the process, reducing the need for manual searching.

Receiving requests from patients who are not yet registered with the service:

Requests may come from patients who have never been registered with the service or from those who were previously registered but have since been discharged. Here’s how to handle these cases👇

Patients who are new to the service

These requests will appear as ‘patient not found.’ To proceed, the patient must first be registered in the service’s EPR. Once their details are added, the request can be manually matched in the inbox.

Patients who were previously under the care of service

Requests from patients who have been previously discharged from your service and appear as ‘inactive’ should still be matched. It is still possible to save communications to inactive patients’ records.
