How to join a Workspace within Accurx Desktop

Find out how to join a workspace within your Accurx Desktop organisation

Please note 📢 This feature is only applied to a selected number of community organisations.

Within a standard Accurx Desktop organisation, each integrated electronic medical record instance will consist of one workspace.

However, some organisations (eg community) can contain hundreds of users who don't work in the same service/team and surfacing all conversations will not be relevant/IG-safe. As a result, we've implemented this feature to enable multiple workspaces within an integrated electronic medical record instance 🎉

How to get started with the Accurx Desktop toolbar

First, you'll need to download the Accurx Desktop toolbar and connect your toolbar to EMIS.

Joining a workspace

Once your toolbar has connected successfully to your EMIS instance, your initials on the toolbar should appear white and you should see this pop-up 👇

  • Click 'Continue', which will open up your web browser

  • Select the 'Join' option on the appropriate workspace. You can also click on the 'members' option to see who the current users are within the workspace

Please note: These workspaces are created based on a comprehensive list provided by your organisation.

  • Once you've joined a workspace, you can click on 'Open Accurx desktop toolbar' to open your Accurx Desktop toolbar which will be connected to the workspace you've joined 🎉

Joining another workspace

Currently, each user with the multiple workspaces in one electronic medical record feature enabled will only be able to join one workspace within each medical record instance.

If you're looking to switch to another workspace at your EMIS organisation, you'll need to ask the Accurx admin of the current workspace to archive you.

Alternatively, you can also reach out to our support team to action this for you 👪

Once archived, you can run through the flow above again to join a new workspace.
