You can assign a message to a colleague or another team by selecting the assignment feature at the top of the conversation. You can also add a note to the conversation.
You will see at the top of your assignee selection your three most frequently assigned-to groups or colleagues, so you can either quick-select from here or search for a team or colleague.
When you assign a message, it will disappear from wherever it was located and move to the inbox that you assigned.
If you have assigned a message to a colleague, they will receive a notification that they have been assigned a message and the message will appear in their 'My inbox'.
If you accidentally assigned a message to the wrong person or team inbox, you can find the message by going to the 'All conversations' folder.
How will I know that someone has assigned a message to me?
You will get a notification on your toolbar and a pop-up message. You will then be able to see the conversation under your 'My inbox'.
Can I set up rules or automations?
This isn't something we support with the current inbox, but it might be something that we look at in future.
How do you choose the top 3 frequently assigned to teams or colleagues?
We base this on the 2-week history of your usage data. We then surface the top 3 colleagues or teams that you contact the most during those 2 weeks. This means the assignees can and will change depending on your usage.
