What limit notifications mean for Community and Mental Health Trusts

From October 2024, patient messages for community and mental health Trusts on the free Accurx Lite bundle are capped at 3,000 messages per trust per calendar month. This allowance resets on the first day of each month.

If you are seeing a notification like this in Accurx, this indicates that your Trust has exceeded its monthly free patient messaging limit. 👇

This means that patient messaging will be unavailable for all users in your organisation until the end of the month.

Messages that count towards your limit:

  • Patient messages sent to patients from Accurx Desktop and Accurx Web

  • Video consultation invites

  • Patient messages that have been scheduled but not yet sent

Messages that do not count towards your limit:

  • Responses received from patients

  • Messages sent to test patients

  • Messages that fail to deliver

  • Messages sent to patients to approve a request to view their GP record (Accurx Web only)

  • Messages to other healthcare professionals (via Accumail or Message GP)

⚠️ If your Trust exceeds its monthly patient messaging limit, messages that have already been scheduled will still to be sent as planned. However, you will not be able to send or schedule any new messages until your organisation’s allowance resets on the first day of each month.

How can I send more messages from my service?

To send an unlimited number of patient messages, you can upgrade your Accurx bundle. Unlimited patient messages are included as standard on all paid Community and Mental Health bundles.*
