Why are these User Interface (UI) changes happening?

Accumail will undergo changes to streamline its features and align them more closely with other similar functions in the toolbar. The core functionality will still be available. These changes focus more on feature placement, with some new features to help manage professional communication.

What these changes mean for you:

  • A stronger foundation: The engineering code has been updated and enhanced to better support healthcare professionals' messaging within Accurx. This will also enable us to upgrade and update the feature with ease moving forward! πŸ› οΈ

  • Streamline design: One toolbar location for outbound messaging and update on outdated visuals to match the rest of the product's messaging features. πŸ‘€

  • A faster, more reliable experience: Under-the-hood improvements allow the interface to load more quickly and enable us to ship new features and fixes to you faster than before. πŸ’ͺ

Important notes:

  • Accumail access: Whilst the Accumail "@" icon will still be present, users will only be able to view old messages and not send anything new from Accumail.

  • Roll back to the old version: There won't be a direct option to do this. The product will move ahead with the new version of communication for healthcare professionals.

Old Accumail access

The change: Access to "@" will remain to view your old Accumail messages when required.

The option to send a professional message and where professional messages are stored will be split, rather than in one location.

For new messages, the send feature will be blocked and is to be accessed from the compose menu on the toolbar. The inbox side of Accumail will now be in the regular desktop icon on the toolbar.

Important notes:

  • What will happen to old messages? They will remain read-only for the time being. The team will communicate updates as soon as anything changes.

  • What if I receive a response from an old Accumail message? New responses will go to your Desktop inbox, not back to Accumail.

  • Post-update, Accumail will be read-only to check older messages.

Accumail Compose a message to Message Professional

Composing a message to other professionals will now be accessible from the drop-down icon next to the message icon.

The options which were available in Accumail for composing an email will still be available in the new design.

Extra options (Mark as urgent, create summary record) will now be in the "..." icon.

Important notes:

  • Quick actions haven't directly been carried over: The workaround feature built in for quick actions will now be the "Start a referral button". Please use the template creation option to replace any messages you need to reuse.

  • Old vs new entry points for emailing healthcare professionals:

  • New vs old compose & new placements:

  • Message professional access:

  • New healthcare compose:

Inbox Management

The inbox will now be accessed from the standard inbox icon in the toolbar rather than the "@" icon.

You'll have a filter option to change your view from "Patient" messages to "Professional". Anything that comes up with the "Professional" tag will be the equivalent of what was formerly an Accumail message.

You can now mark emails as urgent and reassign them to any team.

New options:

  • Improved team management: You can now apply teams to your healthcare/professional messages.

  • Apply patient messaging management features to healthcare professional messages.

  • Filter between patient and professional messages.

  • Old vs new entry points for healthcare professionals' inbox access:

  • Access the inbox:

  • Filter to professionals:

  • The professional filter will list all your non-patient communication:

Care connections

Formerly, what was the "Unassigned" folder in your inbox will now be "Care connections".

This folder is for any inbound you've received from the "Message GP" feature in Accurx Web. Generally. These messages are from other Accurx users contacting you about a patient. (This inbound can be turned if required.)

This inbox is also for any organisations contacting your unique Accumail email address from outside of the Accurx ecosystem. (This inbound can not be switched off.)

New options:

  • Unmatch any mistakenly matched patients: If a patient has been matched in error, you can now unmatch them yourself and re-match them as required.

  • Users can self-serve notifications using the toggle optpn on the folder

  • Old vs new:

  • Care connections folder:

  • Unmatch option
