The Detect language feature within Accurx Scribe helps bilingual clinicians conduct the consultation in a non‑English language while keeping the clinical documentation in English.

Choosing your language settings

  • English: Optimised for consultations conducted in English. Best for English‑only encounters.

  • Detect language: Optimised for consultations conducted in another language. The scribe will recognise the spoken language and produce English notes.

How it works

  1. Start the consultation as usual

  2. If "Detect language" is selected, the spoken language will be automatically identified (from over 50 supported languages), transcribed, and translated into English for your note.

  3. If parts of the encounter are in English, they’ll be transcribed directly.

⚠️ Important review guidance ⚠️

  • The accuracy of translated output varies by language and may contain errors or omissions. Always review the generated notes and documents carefully.

  • To verify accuracy, the reviewer must speak both the consultation language and English.

  • For high‑risk information (e.g., medications, allergies, dosing, procedures), confirm details with the patient if any uncertainty remains.

Supported languages (50+)

Afrikaans, Arabic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Marathi, Maori, Nepali, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, and Welsh.

Other languages are recognised, but output quality may be lower.

Tips for best results

  • Minimise background noise and use a clear microphone.

  • Have one person speak at a time.

  • When possible, avoid frequent switching between languages during a consultation.
