Introducing the all-new Accurx Switch inbox! Designed with you in mind, this inbox makes managing your messages seamless and efficient. With its intuitive features, you'll find staying on top of your conversations easier than ever. 😊

Exciting update: The Inbox you know and love from Accurx Web is now available in the Accurx Switch app too! The Accurx Switch Inbox provides a central hub for keeping track of all your inbound and outbound messages. It's perfect for managing everything from patient communications to internal notes, all in one place.

Note: The Accurx Switch inbox is currently being rolled out gradually, so it might not be available for everyone just yet!

What is the Accurx Switch Inbox?

It allows you to send and receive messages from patients and GPs, manage referrals, handle appointment notes, and share prescriptions. Need to follow up on a patient’s care or flag an urgent message? The Inbox ensures that nothing gets missed, helping you stay organised and in control.

How can the Inbox help me?

The Accurx Switch Inbox is here to make your workday smoother. Here are some ways you can use it:

  • Referrals: Follow up on referral queries or share important updates with GPs securely.

  • Appointment Notes: Keep track of conversations with patients, and add appointment notes to conversations with patients that only you and your colleagues can see.

  • Prescriptions: Send medication-related updates to patients or notify GPs.

  • Test Results: Share test results with patients directly or escalate to a GP if needed.

  • Collaboration: Use it to flag or discuss important updates with colleagues through tagging and assigning messages to your colleagues.

  • Urgent Messages: Mark messages as urgent to ensure they’re prioritised.

Note: Message GP will be available for patients where their GP has opted in.

How do I open the Inbox?

Open the Switch Inbox by selecting Inbox on the app’s Homepage. This will take you to your open conversations. 👇

Opening a conversation and replying to a patient

When selecting an open conversation, you can reply to a patient and scroll through the conversation to view previous messages. This article shows you step-by-step how to message patients.👇

You can send a templated message by selecting 'Reply to patient' followed by pressing 'Search templates and questionnaires'. You will see a list of pre-set messages for you to choose from. 👇

TIP: Selecting 'create and manage templates' takes you to the template section to create new or amend existing templates which you can add to your message. 👇

TIP: You can change the recipient's number by pressing on the pencil next to the 'To:' You can also opt to email the patient within this section too.

When you're finished with your conversation you can then press 'Done'. This will then move the conversation to the 'Done' tab in your inbox.

The small flag button can be used to mark a conversation as 'urgent' and will move that conversation to the top of your inbox queue.

The small speech bubble button lets you mark a conversation as 'unread'. This handy feature is great if you’ve opened a conversation by mistake or want to come back to it later, ensuring nothing gets overlooked 👇

TIP: Any messages that haven't had recent activity (e.g. the patient hasn't responded or you haven't sent them a message) will be auto-marked as 'Done' after 30 days.

Re-opening a closed conversation

To re-open a conversation, head to the 'Done' tab, find the conversation that you want to reopen and press '✅Done' again. This will move the conversation back to the 'Open' tab, so you can continue communicating with your patient. 👇

Inbox notifications

When a patient or GP replies to your messages, you'll get an email notification straight to your NHS email inbox.👇

Selecting ‘Reply’ in an email notification takes you straight to the conversation—on desktop, it opens in Accurx Web, and on mobile, it opens in the Accurx Switch app 👇
