Why you need to join a workspace
After you join your organisation in the Accurx app, you'll also need to join a workspace usually named after your speciality or team (for example, Cardiology). Joining a workspace gives you access to:
Speciality-specific features
Templates tailored to your speciality
Questionnaires relevant to your speciality
Team collaboration
Securely sharing patient information with colleagues in your workspace
Coordinating care plans together
Handing over shifts efficiently
Access to resources your team has already created
Organised communication
Seeing messages relevant to your speciality, rather than everything across the organisation
Fewer irrelevant notifications
Clearer prioritisation of messages that need your attention
Secure patient data access
Workspace membership helps make sure only the right people can access patient information for their team, in line with NHS data protection standards.
💡 An organisation (e.g. your Trust) can have many workspaces, one for each speciality or team that works together regularly. You can be a member of more than one workspace at a time if you work across specialities.
How to join a workspace
When you first join your organisation
Join your organisation in the Accurx app.
When prompted, select the workspace that matches your speciality and work location.
If you work across more than one speciality, you can join additional workspaces later, see below 👇
Joining an additional workspace later
Click the workspace name shown at the top of the app.
From the list that appears, select Join New Workspace.
Existing workspaces are listed alphabetically — search for the one you need.
Click Join, then Confirm 👇
If a suitable workspace doesn't already exist
If your search doesn't find a matching workspace, a Create workspace option appears instead:
Click Create +.
Enter a name that clearly identifies your speciality or team.
Optionally add a short description.
Select your speciality from the available options.
Complete creation.
You'll automatically become that workspace's admin, with approval authority for new members joining it 👇
How to change (switch) workspace
If you're already a member of more than one workspace, you can switch between them at any time:
Click the workspace name shown at the top of the app.
A list of your existing workspaces appears, in alphabetical order.
Click the workspace you want to switch to.
Messages and notifications are organised by workspace, so switching workspaces changes what you see in your Inbox.
