If you’re working in a hospital or other Secondary Care setting, this article will walk you through how to download the Accurx app and sign up or log in if you already have an Accurx account. You’ll just need your NHS email address and access to your phone.
You’ll also need to join a workspace in your Trust to use the app. We’ll explain how that works below.
Already have an Accurx account?
If you’ve already got an Accurx account, you won’t need to sign up again.
Just open the app and log in using your existing Accurx details.
You’ll then be asked to set up your account security, including adding your mobile number and choosing a six-digit PIN. You’ll also have the option to enable your phone’s biometrics, like fingerprint or facial recognition, to unlock the app more easily.
Once that’s done, you’ll be taken straight into the app. If you haven’t already joined a workspace, you’ll be asked to do that too.
Signing up for the Accurx app
Step 1: Download the app
Go to your phone’s app store and search for Accurx, then download it.
Step 2: Open the app and tap Sign up
This will start the registration process.
Step 3: Accept the terms and conditions
Tap Accept to agree and move on to the next step.
Step 4: Enter your NHS email address
Make sure to use your NHS work email so we can match you to the correct Trust.
Step 5: Verify your email
You’ll get an email with a link to verify your account. Follow that link to confirm your address.
Step 6: Return to the app and tap I have verified
Once your email is verified, tap I have verified in the app.
You’ll then see a message saying Email confirmed.
Step 7: Set up your account security
You’ll be asked to add and verify your mobile number, then set a six-digit security PIN in line with healthcare security standards. You’ll also have the option to enable your phone’s biometrics, such as fingerprint or face ID, to unlock the app.
Just so you know, your mobile number is only used to help keep your account secure. It won’t be used for anything else.
Choosing your Trust
Once you’ve set up your security, you’ll be asked to choose your Trust.
Make sure to select the name of the Trust you work for, not just your hospital.
For example, if you work at Curtain Road Hospital but your Trust is called The Accurx Trust, you should select The Accurx Trust from the list 👇
Joining a workspace
To finish setting up your account, you’ll need to join a workspace within your Trust.
Each workspace is linked to a healthcare specialty, which helps you:
Access relevant templates and questionnaires
Keep your communication clear and organised
Share patient information securely with only the right people
If you don’t see the right workspace for you, you can create a new one by filling in the boxes with the details of your team👇
You now have access to the app
Once you're signed up and in a workspace, you’ll land on the app home screen.
From here, you’ll be able to:
Use Accurx Scribe to record clinical notes
Message Patients
Check your Inbox
View your hospital’s directory
Message GPs*
And that’s it, you’re ready to get started! 👇
Note: Message GP may only be available in the app for specific Trusts
