To send a batch message with Accurx, you will need to create a CSV file with a list of patients.
Once you have prepared your CSV, click "Upload a CSV" and you'll be able to select the file from your computer to upload. π
Once you've uploaded your patient list, you will see a page of which patients were accepted and those that weren't. You can download the list to view the reasons. π
What is Likely-to-fail?
A number is unlikely to reach the patient and will end up in the failed folder in your organisation's inbox
The reason a number can fail is due to a number of reasons π (You can read more about the reasons in this article)
The number is invalid β
The phone is turned off π΄
The phone is out of signal πΆ
The phone memory is full π
The mobile network is having issues π‘
How do you know a message is likely-to-fail?
If a number has failed the last time it was messaged, there is >90% chance it will fail next time
The more a phone number has been messaged and the more times it has failed, the less likely it is that the phone number will succeed
What can I do in the future to make sure messages arenβt likely to fail?
Make sure to update their phone number in the records π²
We donβt save phone numbers if you update them using Accurx Desktop
You will need to update the phone number in the patient records in EMIS/SystmOne
Iβm trying to send a Batch Message to a patient but it wonβt let me as it is likely to fail. What can I do as I still want to send the message to the patient?
You can send the patient an individual SMS via the Compose a Message page if you still want to message them and it will not block you from messaging the patient if you wish to do so.
If you want to contact the patient but now donβt have confidence in the number. you can try to:
Email them if they have an email address βοΈ
Call them if you have another phone number βοΈ
What happens if the number fails and then I message it successfully?
If the last time a number was messaged it succeeded it will be treated as a good number and can be messaged until it fails again. This will not be marked as likely-to-fail anymore. π
