What is the NHS app?

The NHS App allows you to access a range of NHS services. You can download the NHS App on your phone or tablet.

You must be aged 13 or over to use the NHS App. You also need to be registered with a GP surgery in England or the Isle of Man. Find out more about who can use the NHS App.

Where can I download the NHS app?

You can download the NHS app via the Apple app store (for iOS devices) or Google Play store (for Android phones). The options below will take you to the relevant pages to download the app onto your mobile smartphone device.

How do I know if I have an account?

When you log into the NHS app, you will be prompted to enter your email.

  • If you have an account, the app will tell you it has linked you to your health record and ask you to complete your login.

  • If you don't have an account, you will be prompted to create one.

How do I log into my NHS app?

Once the app has identified that you have an account you can then proceed to logging in. You can continue to the next step and if you don't know your password you can use the Password Reset prompt.

Alternatively, if you don't have an account then you will be prompted to create one.

What can I do with the NHS app?

The Accurx and NHS app integration allows you to view messages sent to you by your registered healthcare practitioner (GP, Nurse etc).

How do I view messages via the NHS app?

  1. Open the NHS app and after logging in, select the Message icon in the bottom right-hand corner.

  2. Select the practice that has the red notification indicating the number of unread messages you have.

  3. Once you click on this option, select the message to view it.

  1. The message sent to you may have a link asking you to provide some information.

  2. Click the link and enter your date of birth.

  3. Once you've entered your date of birth, you will see the same message that was in the NHS app.

  4. Select the button to start the questionnaire or respond to the sender.
