How to use the video consultation feature on your desktop

We initially built the video consultation feature so it could be launched from a smartphone rather than a desktop computer (as not all staff have access to webcams).

If you do have access to a desktop with a working webcam and microphone, then you can also do it from your desktop. Here's how πŸ‘‡

Step 1
After you have selected the patient in EMIS/SystmOne and clicked on the video icon on the Accurx Desktop toolbar, make sure that 'On this computer' is selected as shown in the picture below.

Step 2

You can click on either "Mobile" or "Email" to send the link to the patient. If you choose phone, you will need to enter the patients mobile number or if you click email, their email address:

Then click "Send now".

Step 3
After the message has been sent to the patient, you'll see it appear in the patient's message history. From here you can just click "Join video consultation now" and it will open the video consult in a supported web browser (e.g. Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome).

From here you can continue your video consultation as normal πŸ™‚
