Notifications on Accurx Web are designed to keep you informed about new patient responses to your messages. You can now:
Be assured that you'll never miss another patient response to your message.
Stay on top of all unread patient responses in one place through your personal Notifications page.
Manage what needs your attention by marking individual patient responses as 'Read' or 'Unread'.
How do I start using the notifications feature?
Notifications should automatically be enabled when you log in to Accurx web. However, to start viewing your notifications, you'll be required to set up two-factor authentication; we have created a separate guide for this here.
To view your notifications:
Step 1: Click on the notifications bell icon in the navigation bar.
Step 2: Complete your two-factor authentication (If you haven't already)
Step 3: View your notifications page
What will I be notified about?
You'll be notified about new patient responses to your messages via an email to your NHS email address, as well as an in-product notification.
If you are using our solution for Patient Initiated Contact / PIFU, you can choose who within your team should receive email and in-product notifications for incoming patient requests. Find out more here.
How will I be notified when a patient responds?
When a patient responds to your message, you'll be notified in two ways:
You'll receive a notification on Accurx web, which will be indicated by an incremental change in the value on top of the notification icon.
You'll also receive an email notification in your NHS email inbox (Note: this is the email you use to log in to Accurx Web). The email will contain a secure link to access the patient’s response and will open in a new tab on your personal device. You'll need to be logged into Accurx Web for the reply to open.
Why do I require Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to view my Notifications?
Notifications contain sensitive patient information, which needs to be safeguarded for ethical and legal reasons. Two-factor authentication is an important security measure that adds a powerful second layer of protection in addition to your password — thus preventing a malicious party from logging into your account even if they have access to your password.
How do I set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
We have created a separate guide for this here. Once you've set up Two-Factor Authentication, you'll be prompted to authenticate at least once every 24 hours or every time you log out of Accurx web.

How do I mark a notification as 'Unread'?
Step 1: Open your personal notifications page
Step 2: Click on the 3-dot menu beside the notification you would like to mark as unread
Step 3: Select 'Mark as unread' from the dropdown list
Step 4: The notification will now be marked as unread
⚠️ Please note: This will not mark the associated email notification in your NHS email inbox as unread
How do I disable notifications?
At present, you cannot choose to disable notifications.
