​When using Accurx Desktop, information regarding consent will be presented back to you when you pull up a patient in EMIS/SystmOne/Vision and Accurx Desktop. Here's how it looks...

❗ Note that you aren't blocked from sending texts to patients that have declined consent. This is intentional so that, for instance, a clinician could send a text whilst in a consultation to their current patient who gives verbal consent ❗

How Accurx Desktop checks consent in EMIS

Accurx Desktop checks for the following codes in the patient medical record in EMIS, to see whether a patient has opted in or out of SMS messages:

Consent given βœ”οΈ

Consent given for communication by short message service text messaging
SNOMED: 699237001
READ: 9ndP

Consent given to receive test results by short message service text messaging
SNOMED: 911361000000104
READ: 9ndP0

Consent declined ❌

Declined consent for short message service text messaging

How Accurx Desktop checks consent in SystmOne

In SystmOne, Accurx Desktop checks SMS consent status in the "Patients Details" ✏️

(Note: consent SNOMED/READ codes are not checked by Accurx Desktop in SystmOne)
