Working as a locum, or across more than one practice? No problem! Here's how to use Accurx Desktop across them.

Note that we can only connect to one site at a time, so you will need to check which site you're connected to and ensure you're bringing up patients from that site through to Accurx Desktop.

You can use your existing Accurx login details

You can use your existing Accurx account across many practices - no need to make a new one. Just log in as usual to the toolbar, and remember you can always use the Forgot Password function if you need it.

Not installed at your new practice? You can go to our website and click GP practice to get started there.

If the other practice/site uses EMIS, see option A below for the next steps...
If the other practice/site uses SystmOne, see option B below for the next steps...

A) I'm using Accurx Desktop with another practice or site that uses EMIS

1) If the second site uses EMIS, check the organisation ID in Accurx Desktop matches the ID of the practice you are logging into in EMIS.

You'll need to switch this each time you change Practice if you are switching between EMIS practices. To do this you need to:

  • Go to your menu (initials icon) and select settings

  • In the organisation ID box, type in the ID which is across the top of EMIS Web

  • Close Accurx Desktop and restart it by double-clicking the desktop icon

2) [First-time set-up only] Check that you are enabled in EMAS manager at the second EMIS site

If you don't have access to EMAS manager, you can ask someone who does to do this for you - the settings get pushed to all EMIS instances in the practice, so it will apply to your PC.

This will only need to be done once for each EMIS practice you work at.

Done! πŸ˜„ βœ”οΈ You should now be set up to use Accurx Desktop, and you should see all your practices listed under Manage Organisation.

B) I'm using Accurx Desktop with another practice or site that uses SystmOne

  1. Log into the Accurx Desktop toolbar with existing accurx account details

  2. Log into SystmOne at the other practice/site

  3. Approve Accurx in the pop-up that appears in SystmOne (this article has the steps to approve this)

The toolbar should now automatically recognise your other SystmOne practice/site and you will be able to start using it to send texts. πŸ˜„ βœ”οΈ

Note: it is important that you are only running one practice/site in SystmOne at a time to allow Accurx Desktop to recognise any other SystmOne practice/site.
